Around the Dirt sprouted from a desire to cultivate a positive online environment for the Arizona softball community. Founder BJ Johnson, a trainer and softball dad, recognized the escalating negativity on existing platforms and envisioned a space where fastpitch enthusiasts could celebrate victories while also fostering growth opportunities for local athletes, teams, tournament organizers, trainers, and small businesses. What began as a modest private Facebook community with a few hundred followers rapidly grew into a vibrant network boasting over 7,000 members—a number that continues to grow daily.

Around the Dirt has now evolved from its local roots to emerge as a national platform. It now stands as a unified space catering to players, parents, teams, coaches, trainers, tournament directors, and enthusiasts across the country. Our platform serves as a simplified yet comprehensive resource hub, offering everything needed for the sport. From its humble origins as a small-scale initiative to its current stature as a nationwide facilitator, Around the Dirt remains committed to providing an inclusive space where the passion for the game thrives and connections flourish.
